On peut relever le dos, détendre les muscles et contempler le travail accompli. La taillerie, c’est fini ! (on peut même le chanter).
Il aura fallu 1000 heures de travail, depuis fin octobre, un nombre incalculable de coups de sécateurs par tous les temps, pour venir à bout de nos vignes pour cette année. On finit avec une légère avance sur notre planning habituel, mais tout indique que l’année va vite démarrer, alors il ne fallait pas trainer pour finir.
Pas de répit pour autant : il faut lier, couper et ramasser les charpentes, monter le tracteur pour le travail du sol, et préparer le tirage et la champagnisation qui se profilent en avril !

 …. and we’re done.

We can stretch our back, relax our muscles and appreciate the work done. Pruning is over !
It required 1000 hours of hard work, since the end of october, and thousands and thousands of secator cuts under any weather, to reach our goal and prune the last plant for this year. We’re done a bit earlier than our usual schedule, but all indicators show that the year should start quickly, so we needed to hurry to finish.
No rest for us though : now it is time to tie, cut the stocks, prepare the tractor for soil work, and prepare the bottling and disgorging that will take place in april.
